They fought all the way through the Peninsular War

Crossing the Roer on 25 February 1945 the 5th spearheaded the XIII Corps drive to the Rhine

so this rifle was last used in Germany by the Bavarian 3rd Reserve Regiment

This one is circa 1880-1900

We received this out of an old attic collection, along with about 100 other swords. This is another sword that looks like the grandchildren got hold of. The wire binding on the grip is still present but is loose since the leather lining beneath it has been lost removed, as has the cord wrapping that would be underneath the leather. The brass mountings are fully embossed all over, showing this was a prized sword
