This is a very scarce Swiss model 1892 00 Bayonet (Vierkant Stichbajonett), also known as the model 1889, 1892, 1900, or cyclist bayonet. These were manufactured by converting an older 1863 or 1871 Vetterli socket bayonet: the socket was removed and a new crosspiece and grip with lock was welded on. This example is stamped on the crossguard with serial number 65168. There are no other markings, correct for this
