and completely conforms to the WWII Pattern

The changes made to this new model was the use of a more matte field grey finish and the vent holes were now integral to the helmets shell

The chamber is opened by pressing the small stud sight on the top of the frame directly behind the hammer

Here is a scarce piece of USMC headgear we have never had before, a P1917 Rubberized Rain Cap. These are very scarce and this example appears to have had an EGA affixed to the front at one point. This would look phenomenal with one affixed. There is a faint stamp on the interior reading: UNITED STATES RUBBER CO. CONTRACT NO. DEC. 13, 1917 U. S. M. C. The cap is in great shape overall and the lining is well retained.
