This is a genuine Federal Issue leather Pattern 1855 . 58 Caliber Cartridge Box made by the firm of H. A. Dingee of New York. In addition, the soldiers name is carved into the outer flap of the box, just above the plate. Of particular interest, the right side lower corner shows slight upwards
