Mauxion Selection, Pineau des Charentes, Single Cask 2000, France, 750mL Gin by Joaquin Simo of PouringBack in 2000, the Mondory family (three generation vine grower, winemaker and distiller in the Petite Champagne appellation in Cognac) decided to make their first Pineau des Charentes. Unfortunately, they never found a buyer and eventually forgot the barrel in the cellar. They never made another Pineau 22 years and a few liters of Angel Share later, the liquid inside the barrel evolved into an absolutely gorgeous nectar. Powerful nose and palate
