This is a lovely piece of Napoleonic history, a small fragment of woodwork from the Longwood dining room in Napoleons residence on the island of St. Helene. This piece came from the Museum of Trans on June 13th, 1963, with a note of provenance signed by Gilbert Martineau, Consul of France, Curator of the French Domain of St. Helene. The frame is a gorgeous gilt example with the wreathed N for Napoleon at the bottom. There
