This is a very nice Belgian Post WWII Paratrooper helmet

as used by Imperial Germany and her allies during the First World War and beyond

so it definitely did see use after conversion

It remains in good original condition, with most of its olive drab green paint still intact. The periscope includes its original adjustable leg and belt clip. The periscope utilizes two opposing glass mirrors, one on top and one on the bottom, held in a wooden case that is secured together by twisted wire.
