and in 1947 was redesignated as the 27th Engineer Combat Battalion

and quite stiff

we are unable to see the condition of the shell or who the manufacturer is

composition replacement however the other side is the original wood issue

This bayonet design is based on the earlier M1871 84 bayonet with a 10 inch blade, and the first model of these were converted from those bayonets.
