Os Mutantes formed in the late '60s, and members Arnaldo Baptista, Sergio Dias and Rita Lee released this self titled debut in 1968. The sound is undoubtedly influenced by classic acts from the '60s (Beach Boys, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, etc.), but the group's distinct flavor is truly a thing of singular sonic beauty, with fuzzy guitars, heavily echoed vocals (in Portuguese!), and almost giddy layers of horns and organs
