I did have a chance to re-taste samples of the same wines from 2009 and was left with a fabulous impression (that confirms the high scores I gave last year)

Aging potential

Subtle but not invisible notes of menthol and wood frame the mostly red berry fruit

A deft touch of wood sets off scents of violets as well as essence of red berry fruit that merges into seductively textured

There is again excellent volume to the rich

Nicolas Rossignol, Volnay Ronceret Vintage:2019 I did have a chanceAn herbal tea top note can be found on the ripe aromas of cassis, black cherry, cinnamon and violet. The caressing and enveloping medium bodied flavors also possess outstanding volume and focused power on the superbly long finish. This broad shouldered effort is presently tautly muscular and quite firm though Roncerets typically ages beautifully into classic examples of Volnay and I predict this will do the same if allowed sufficient time.
